Stupid Question
OK....I feel stupid asking this but...here goes...
I own an authentic Omega Seamaster Pro (Auto), as well as an Arctos Nato Auto. With both watches the kinetic energy from my wrist is enough to keep the m going. If I don't wear them for awhile I just shake the watch for a min or so and I am good to go.
So anyways, I recently purchased a used PAM111H knock-off by Davidsen from one of the fellow members here. The watch looks great but it stopped working today and when I shake it to get it going it only stays running for a short while. I figured the watch was hooped and then googled it to see what was up...
So this is where my question comes in...I read on the web that you can wind an automatic watch to get it going. I feel stupid but did not know this. I was worried that if I turned the crown to wind it something might get wrecked, and as i already stated with my two other genuine auto watches I have never needed to 'wind them', just a good shale for 40 secs or so did the trick.
So, is it normal practice to manually wind an automatic movement watch if you haven't used it for a while? And before you guys all bug me and say what a stupid question...I like to always say the following:
'There is no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people'

111h is a manual wind watch, you have to wind it through the crown :)
It is generally not recommended to manual wind automatic movements, however there's no other choice on manual wind ones, so try to wind it on the crown and see the magic happening again :)

The 111 has a mechanical movement, meaning it does not have the ability to self wind. You must manually wind that watch. It ticks a bit when you shake it, but not for long. Again, with that watch winding by the crown is mandatory. Hope this helps.

Donīt worry, everybody was a newbie :)
The 111 is manual, so donīt shake it

Thanks!
Man do I ever feel stupid....but glad I asked the question:D
Thanks guys! Funny thing, I though the watch was an auto, but pleasantly surprised it's a manual wind.
What would the Panerai model be that looks like a PAM111 but with an auto movement...or does it exist?? Sorry, I love the look of Panerais but I'm not too informed on the model line-ups.

The Pam 250, the submersibles, I have a titanium 089 that has an auto movement -- they are out there.
