Hello all
First (past the) post New Member so please excuse unfamiliarity etc.
Interesting site/community and I look forward to slowly finding my way.
Never actually bought a replica - but my wife for a joke gave me (in 1992) a rolex bought in asia for $20 or so - to my utter surprise it had an automatic movement, screw in crown, magnified date, and kept reasonable time and what is more looked ok.
It got drowned when I wore it going for a row and capsized.
I have always worn a real watch. I bought new in Bern in 1968 a Heuer chrono, cost 48 GBP. Lost 3 years later in Sydney. Will soon replace it if I can find a nice one. I still miss it.
Started buying occasional better (than the ones I was wearing) genuine mechnical watches in 15 years ago for interest and to wear.
Favre-Leuba
Valmon
Cupilliard Rieme
Marvin
Jules Jurgensen
Marvin in for repair. Currently wearing the JJ (1950's superthin automatic 34 mm solid 14 carat 1 piece case <8mm deep including crystal). great watch - gets comments.
Will buy a replica or two soon.
1st time I have ever posted to or joined a forum of any description (am I showing my age?)
Thanks and keep in time please.

Welcome to repgeek, you already seem to have a nice collection - can we get a few pics of them in the eye-candy or vintage section :D please. For me it was the replica watches that got me into buying real watches but my next one will most probably be a replica or two.
