How about a form that all people would fill out for posting a watch sale? Example:
Watch Specifics:
1. Selling Price
2. Brand/Model
3. Condition
4. Band(s)
5. Movement
6. Origin/Dealer
When you make something standard it becomes more professional and worth while. You get the idea, what do you think?
It's a good idea R2, but we have problems having our members actually READ the sales rules before posting....... Let alone follow a format.

Be nice if it was an HTML form with mandatory boxes (y'know the things wont let you proceed unless questions completed)....save everyone a lot of headaches.

I like the idea a lot. You could do a standard form and even have drop down boxes in the form to help people fill it in. Make sure they cant go forward with out filling something in the box. At the bottom offer a "comment box" for so the seller can explain anything in detail they want.

Yes, it would be more professonal... im pretty sure ther eare some vB mods out there that add a real sales forum to a site. I've seen it in action on other forums. No more having to change title to 'sold' No more searching blindly. No more BS and having old posts buried... not sure if its commercial or not, but would certainly help this forum....

I like the HTML idea as well. If you could make it so that you have to choose drop down lists and or complete each box before your listing is submitted to Admin. Example:
1. Origin/Dealer:
A. Pre-owned from another member
B. Non-Forum supported (Please fill in the blank)
C. Franken.
Anibus, I think your comment about people not reading the rules is a perfect reason to have the form. I agree though people want the easiest quickest route.
By having a member go through hoops and ladders to sell it should weed out those who post with no information and encourage the accuracy and courtesy we all deserve.
This might work if we can figure out a way to post a rep sale thread only through this form... :D

good idea - we do have this in place now. Not the html, but the guidelines do require the items you mentioned in the original post/suggestion.
Behind the Admin curtain though, I'd be happy if the sales rules were simply read prior to posting some of the watches. ;) The drop down menu is a terrific idea.
Now comes the 2 dollar question coming from a non-programer.
If user is less than 100post then? Show: Sorry, your post count must be above 100 to post an item for trade/sale.
If user is a VIP than +0 Posts are OK.
Just another idea whereby the form cannot be completed without VIP or more than 100 posts.
R2, we are working on that one too. Keep up the suggestions comming. I have something done for VIP only but have not done it based on post count.
