I have noticed many geeks here are gun lovers. I would like to suggest a sub-forum just for that topic: Guns... Of course there should be rules like no sales, no political views etc...

Don't they have gun forums for this? It's best if we stay on point and focus on watches otherwise we'd have a car forum, motorcycle forum, ice hockey forum and so on. There's plenty of room in "off topic" for gun discussion without opening up a new section and assigning a moderator to keep things in check.
I like guns as well, Bruce. But I have to go with Brobert on this, I already frequent board specifically made for them.

So do I Anubis, however, I felt like making a suggestion seeing as there is a cigar section. I do indeed understand that appointing a moderator to cover 1 sub-forum would be a task but going into the off topic section and discussing firearms may be deemed unfit by the non gun owners/lovers. I know on another forum I openly talk about firearms in the appropriate section but there are always those who want to express their political views etc and that is in my opinion not what a gun section should be about. I believe someone should be able to talk about their hobbies without being ridiculed etc.... Thank you both for at least taking the time to answer the suggestion though.Quote:
