By-Tor......mine is working fine.
Every once in a while I have this happen with other boards, and it is often due to issues with your browser (IE or Firefox). Flushing the Cache and Browsing History may help.
For Firefox, go to Tools/Clear Private Data. A new window pops up asking which items you want to clear. I leave Cookies and Passwords unchecked, and let it clear everything else.
For Internet Explorer it is Tools/Delete Browsing History. You want to clear Temporary Internet Files and History. Again I leave Cookies and Passwords alone.
Once you delete history you will need to enter each URL again to go to a site or select from your bookmarks. Once you visit a site the first time you can pull down the URL list and select it again from there.

By Tor I believe its something with Safari causing this. Is this what you are using. I have another report from another member using Safari with this problem.
I'm using Firefox.
Clearing private date did indeed help. Wonder what was the problem... never experienced that before.

Interesting that clearing the cash took care of this. I will recomend this to the other user using Safari.
It is actually not that strange at all. A cache is designed to take images, backgrounds and other "static" information from web sites and copy them onto your local hard drive. The next time you visit that site your browser looks to the hard drive first and then downloads anything different. This dramatically speeds up web browsing since it doesn't need to download everything over and over again. It is a little less dramatic today with broadband, but in the days of 56k modems the speed improvement could be very significant.
Problems can happen when your browser gets "confused" (technical term) about what is static (such as the repgeek logo at the top left) and what is new information (discussion threads). Clearing the cache (and browsing history for good measure) forces your browser to treat everything as new again.
OK, not precisely what happens technically, but you get the idea. :D
What I reckon happened is that the date/time in the cookie was wrong.
A browser won't cache anything with a "?" in the URL.

You understand the difference between static and dynamic content with regard to caching. That's more than any sales people I've worked with. :)Quote:

False alarm. Still doesn't work. I always need to clear my private data manually if I want to view them. Weird indeed. :(
