Noob from Wonderful Copenhagen
Evening all,
Time for this Dutch noob to come out of hyber- (lurking)nation and start participating. Have been browsing various forums for a while now, searching and reading everything and nothing. Ordered the Panerai catalogues and they have occupied my evenings this last week. So for now, I'll stick to the introduction. ;)
Have been a car enthousiast for ages now, but only recently did I dive into the world of watches. An obvious link, many would agree; I'm just amazed about how long it actually took, now that I am discovering the beauty of it. Given the size of my wallet, rep's are most definately the way forward, although some vintage gen definately are on my wishlist. :cowboy:
I've experienced it somewhat with a few (specialized) car forums, but the (rep) watch scene on this forum is truly amazing. This world of watches keeps on unraveling itself and there are so many cool things I'm discovering. Just like with cars :) . The lines, shapes, colour (combo's), straps, technique. There's an endless row of combinations and I'm just getting started with learning (new) brands & models. The human factor of it, the community feel on the forums is the other inspiring part, that keeps on pulling me to the forums every day.
Like my taste in cars, I already have a diverse list of watches/brands that I like. although like with cars, I have a soft spot for the 'odd one out', the special ones, and less of a liking for 'regular' stuff. Dare I say it, but Subs don't do anything for me. :shh:
Living in Denmark, I like Danish Design and Linde Werdelin is on my list of favourite brands, although it is a very young one. Others? Tag Heuer, Romain Jerome, Panerai :), Corum,
I'm glad to have arrived here, I'm planning on staying for a while, I hope to be asking some (not-too-much) Noob questions soon and probably before you know it, I'll be selling highly modded reps to make space for a gen. :D
Thanks,
josjevee
P.s. What's on my wrist now? My black Skagen '521LBLB1' has been put aside, since my first rep, a PAM196 has arrived. Not my favourite PAM model, but a great one to get started with and get a feel of Panerai's with. Bought through this forum, so :drinking:
