Hello there
Hey guys,
New to the forum so thought I could introduce myself.
I am 22, Turkish, and currently studying in the states. My astonishment with watches started pretty early when I saw a pepsi gmt master ad on a magazine when I was about 14 and immediately asked my dad about it. He laughed and said "graduate high school, then we'll see."
To keep me company, he got me a seiko sportura chronograph which I loved, and then one day, he handed me a sea-dweller. Couldn't believe my eyes, and I figured quite soon that it was a replica. He gave me that watch when I was 17, and said "show me you can keep good care of it for a year, and you might just get the real thing when you're 18."
When I was leaving for college, he handed me the iconic green leather box, and said "do not lose it." Opened it, and there it was, my first genuine rolex. It was a white dial explorer II, and I loved it at first sight, everything about it seemed right. I was frustrated at first because I didn't get a sub, but his choice seems a better option now, as an explorer II is I think a watch for every occasion, not just sporty.
Pretty soon I started obtaining pam and omega homages too. Thanks to this forum, I just pulled the trigger on a first replica from puretime; the pam 111e super lite edition. I will keep you updated with the process :)
Hope you enjoyed my story guys. My collection to this day stands as;
-Seiko 5
-Rolex Explorer II Ref. 16570
-2 Pam homages from Getat (44mm PVD power reserve and a basic 44mm)
-Invicta Pro-Diver 8926 (the coin edge bezel one, daily beater)
-Zeppelin Black Line 7286M-2 (beautiful swiss quartz speedmaster homage)
