New Member Here, thanks for all the help!
Joe here, thought I'd introduce myself. Been on a few forums lurking for 2 months, first post...
First, quick question: who has the best Sub? Ok, ok, bad joke :)
I'm here much like most of you. My great girlfriend bought me a gen vintage Sub over the holidays, first nice watch I ever had. It got me hooked. I went looking for a rep of this watch given the value of the gen, and got scammed on one of the many websites. I paid 3x what I should have, then got smart, and found the forums. Hooked up with a reputable dealer (Josh, awesome service!) and have 8 nice reps now.
Many thanks to the folks here and elsewhere. I read, read, read, and ordered some awesome reps. Collection pics below, and a few comments.
Nicest rep: toss-up between the HBB Black Magic, Bentley GT, and Porsche Design. The Roley's are nice, but having got the bug, I (like many of you) are exploring other reps.
Nicest Roley rep: easy choice, SS Daytona. Understated, this watch just glows.
Coolest feature: Porsche Clasp. Awesome design, feels great on the wrist. Easily the most comfortable of the watches as well.
Most of the reps were in great shape, straight out of the EMS package. The Porsche Chrono Seconds is mis-aligned. I'm handy, so I may remove the 7750 and align this myself.
Best surprise: Josh' service and delivery. Longest delivery was 7 days from order, average is 5.
Most wrist-time in last month: toss-up between the Bentley and the Black Magic.
Most noticed: HBB Black Magic
Biggest disappointment: my $800 mistake Sub. Josh' are much closer to real (nice to have a gen to compare with). This is the TT sub in the pics.
Most common problem: tie between date fonts and day-alignment issues with the 7750s.
Biggest worry: purchasing 8 reps within 2 months. Nightmare service issues in a few years? That's a lot of a7750s, I think I'll learn to service these myself...
Still waiting on: IWC Slevin Chrono and a manual skeleton.
Next purchase: Omega Double Eagle TT white face?
So anyone, thanks to everyone here (shout out to Dave123 in particular), I learned tons from your posts.
Yours,
Joe
