What happens if I drop my price from one range to another? The thread won't move, so do I then have to close that and reopen in another price range? Not only would that be a challenge for us but it would probably be a nightmare for mods.
On the surface it seems like a good idea, but it would just make things too convoluted IMO.

Well I certainly don't know anything about programming, but I imagine there could be some kind of programming code that would automatically move the thread to the correct price category if you changed the price in the "price field". Or, perhaps keep the current format but add an option to organize the sales threads by price in ascending/descending order.
It would create a HUGE hassle for the staff. I haven't asked the senior admins, but I'm pretty sure that it's not going to happen.
Wouldn't work. If a VIP sells multiple watches and has a Franken and cheapo they want to sell they would have to have multiple sales threads. Sounds like a mess to me personally. Defeats the purpose also of VIP's being able to sell more than one watch in a single thread.
People can post dollars$, dollars$$, dollars$$$ to represent $100, $200, $300, etc. Probably some room to fine tune the keyword.
Then that word can be searched and show up, without needing to be sectioned, or placed in the title additionally. I'd leave out the "dollars" part if the board doesn't have minimum search lengths, except then it would probably pop on all $ hits for the $100 range.
Not a perfect system but it would make it possible to self-categorize a little. GBP would complicate it.
why don't we just organize it by date ?
that way it's easy to laugh @ the unrealistic folk that keep bumping their **** pretending it's gold for months on end :D
Not gonna happen I think
