Mornin' Folks!
Hey there, just thought I'd stop in and say hi. I'm Mitch, from Pittsburgh, and I have a slight obsession with watches. I will admit, I mainly joined because I was researching PAM111's from PT(which are on backorder, GAH!) and thought I'd stay.
My collection:
-an older Orange PO Rep, that while reliable as hell, is dented, scratched, and missing the pearl.
-Invicta Model 0351, quartz
-Akribos Automatic
-Sturhling manual wind
-Relic quartz
-Fossil Automatic
-a super old Victorinox quartz
-Relic pocket watch.

Not pictured, is a Blue/white window Tag Monaco rep that lasted about a year then just refused to change time. Well sort of. It's at the bottom of the box, you can see the band in the pic haha. I could wind it, but couldn't move the hands. I want to replace it one day.
Definitely looking to expand my collection. I was looking at getting an Invicta 2845, the green dial with the mother of pearl face, but decided on the PAM instead. I just hope the wait isn't too long. I'd also like to replace my PO rep with a newer, nicer one day.
I was reading something on here yesterday concerning the money involved in watch buying, and I definitely feel that I'm in the crowd of.. not willing to pay that much for a watch, when a rep will get the job done. Quite honestly, I'm 31, getting married soon, and then I'll be looking at houses and probably kids in the near future. Not to mention I have an '06 GTO that keeps a lot of my funds tied up. It just isn't feasible to drop thousands on a Gen. I buy watches for me, I love just watching the gears move on the skeletons, and don't care about other people's opinions. I think of it as a fashion accessory. Not to mention like I read in that thread, noone's ever going to be able to tell if it's real or not. I'm not a bragger or a showoff like that. Usually if someone says 'nice watch' about my PO I just say thanks and move on.
Anyways, that's my story. It's refreshing to actually be able to show my tiny collection to like minded people, just because of the stigma of REP's in general, I usually keep it to myself.

Hi Mitch, welcome to Repgeek:)

Hi Mitch, welcome to the forum! You are right, most people will NEVER know that you are wearing a rep. In fact, watches are pretty much invisible to most people. I just got back from an 8 day cruise and wore a different rep every day. I had one person comment on one of my watches the whole trip. I just say wear what YOU enjoy and don't worry about people think! I like to buy reps that are fairly accurate to gen, but that's just for me, not anybody else.
Anyway, jump right in and join the conversations!
