I've finally made my first purchase from a TD :)
Hey RG people!
I'm anxiously waiting for my first watch from a TD. I have only one rep, and it's supposedly a fantasy model Radiomir that I purchased from another member.
I have really bad social anxiety (it extends all the way to forums also), and as you can tell; I've been a member for about a year with a miniscule amount of posts. I've been playing this lurking game that makes me feel like it's kept me safe, but just making it worse for me.
I received my first rep from a fellow member and I feel like it has been helping me :D
Now i've broken through the fear of purchasing things overseas and bought myself the new Noobfactory IWC Ingy. To explain this fear of things overseas (I know it sounds ridiculous) but I've always had this thing in the back of my head that makes me think that customs will go through my package and slap a big fine on it or confiscate it making my anxious time used for waiting, all for naught.
I finally broke through that barrier and the watch left China a couple of days ago. I'm hoping to receive it before the holidays. Is that possible? Or is it over wishful thinking?
Anyways, I'll be more active in this forum :)
Thanks RG and Members,
Sansamp3

If you made your purchase at a TD so no need for worries, all well be good!
If customs really confiscates your watch (risk is not so high, so just relax...:)): deny that you ordered it, just say you ordered spare parts or so, this package to you its definitely wrong, a mistake from the sender, etc, bla, bla...
Then email your TD in a polite way and ask about next steps. If save shipping was guaranteed he will ship your watch again. If not guaranteed: maybe he will offer shipping again at half price.
In time for Christmas? Hm, depends on the country you are living, depends how much work your carrier have, depends how quick (or slow) your customs process the package and so on... But I think realistically you will get your fine watch after Christmas...
PS: I'm also quite new to this hobby, made my first purchase at October, and everything went great! At the moment my 2nd order is on the way (4 great watches), and they will certainly not arrive before Christmas - damned strict customs in EU, so transshipment via UK is necessary, and this makes the journey more time consuming.
But I am sure that I WILL get my watches, it is only a matter of time. You know: patience is the most important thing in this game... And definitely the hardest! ;)
Good luck with you new watch, just relax, sit back and wait - and you will enjoy your new baby! :D:beer::thumbup:
