Can we have a 'VIP Projects Section' ?

Geek gods,
Once upon a time there were various "reservation list" in the forum by long established members offering custom parts (crystals, datewheels, screws), which we no longer see.
Would it be possible to have a 'VIP access only' Projects section so members can work on fully self funded watch parts?

Of course there should be guidelines which you can set like:
- no payment upfront (fully self funded)
- VIP access only
- % Geek Tax on each item sold, so revenue for forum maintenance.
- Selling only commences after part is made and in the hand of the project manager. (proof by tagged pic)
- excess parts sold in VIP section only!
- VIP sales only on all rep fora's

I feel the Supporting vendor section is for members hoping to create a long term business (straps, fully built watches), whilst a VIP project would be a one/two hit run.

Further upside would be new members taking up VIP membership to access the projects.

General opinion from you geeks?

A few members enjoy working on projects to make their watches a little bit special, i.e. better printed DW or taller crystal. If they can find a manufacturer to make a small batch of parts at a reasonable price, then members will want to make the same improvements to their watches.

- 'Groupbuys' are a no-no. I think there's been a few instances in the past where it went arse-over...
- 'Reservation list' is a bit of a grey area. Sometimes it just progesses under the radar and other times its stopped.


What i'd like to see is a small section in VIP where members can make a small batch-run project. The 'reservation list' is used to guage the interest before someone commits a few G's into having parts made.

*Also I prefer working with VIP as they are less likely to back-out of the deal in the end.

Any member on this forum is free to open a discussion with me and the rest of the administration in case he wants to pitch a project.
If approved he will be free to post it (only previous prior approval and in respect of our guidelines...mainly absolutely no $$ upfront).
This said, we don't really see the need for an extra section at the moment.
