Hi everyone, I wanted to introduce myself as I've just rather belatedly joined the forum.
My name is Jon and I'm from England. I've been interested in fine watches since I was fairly young, and my first proper watch was a blue Seamaster I bought when I was 18. Since then a lack of time and money and other interests left watch collecting low on my list of priorities, until around a year ago when I started collecting vintage Seamasters.
I'm very new to the world of replicas and whilst I will endeavour to read up on things, I can't promise there will be no foot in mouth moments. So please be gentle:)
Following the Seamaster theme, my first rep was a planet ocean chrono from trusty time. It is a very nice watch and I am happy with it, but I didn't do enough research before the purchase, and I have since realised it really isn't a very good copy. Thats life though, my fault for not having the patience to do my research.
My most recent buy was one of the SSDs that I notice are mentioned alot on this site. I've read generally good reviews, so I'm confident it will be a better replica than my planet ocean. It may well arrive in this coming week. I will be sure to report when it does.
Anyway, I have wittered on enough. I look forward to learning alot and maybe even contributing a little.
Jon
