Another Newbie
Hello every body,
Great to find so many people with like minded issues, I am really pleasantly supprised. From reading some of the threads I can see that there is so much more to this addiction than I imagined, here's looking forward to becoming a fully fledged watch rep junky.
My addition started when my father bought a Seiko Sports 100 digital divers watch 37 years ago for my 18th birthday, I have been hooked ever since.
I live in London and cant wait to spend time hunting down my next purchase. I own several cheap end reps, misc others and one gen Oyster. Strange as it may seem I love my reps more, much more. Is it the thrill of fooling people or maybe the effort in finding near perfect replication...I don't know.
As a newbie I'm feeling like a child in a very big sweet shop, I am keen for some RG guidance on acquiring a few items on my wish list. I would like a reasonable quality rep of A:
TAG Monaco SS Chrono with Blue face, preferably with auto movement and a sapphire glass.
and B:
Submariner Date Yellow & Gold with black face and glidelock clasp (116613) again with a good auto movement and a sapphire glass.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Im also looking for a couple of replacement straps, a black croc (20x16mm) for a Daytona which includes a step for the deployant clasp and a honey brown croc strap (24mm) for a Brietling Bently.
The prices Ive found are extortionate, many time the price of my reps. From this site I have been lead to watching Youtube videos on strap making and even bidding on crocodile handbags for doner material. If anything comes of it I'll keep you informed.
Thanks for reading.

As you've been asking about a nice Rolex 116613, i can give you a link a to thread by Ruprekt which covers this topic.
http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.ph...ghlight=116613
Basically, if you want a nice 116613, buy the BP version which can be sourced by most dealers and then, after a minor mod done either by you or your modder of choice, install a WM9 dial so that the blue color will be accurate. Also you could do the gold paint mod if you want the numbers on the bezel to be closer to gen.
