Inside EU? Or CONUS?
From Conus to Eu.
I had an incident with customs inside EU.
They confiscated a watch rep that I bought to a user in this forum, from Netherlands to Spain.
The seller wins and the buyer loses :(
So, be careful with sales and customs nowdays in general ....
That sucks.. what did you agree about shipment and customs declaration?
I don’t know mate, maybe random inspection
Package arrived sealed with “opened and resealed in German customs”, but the watch wasn’t in the package. The seller confirmed that he sent the watch inside.
Be careful with sales conditions and customs, outside or inside EU.
I do not intend to troll this thread, sorry
Ah ok. Probably shouldn’t take express as they want customs declarations etc
If sent with regular DHL (parcel) there is absolutely no problem.
avoid dhl in my opinion. regular post is slower , bvut much safer. although i dont see why customs would open package from eu to eu. never heard that happened before.
Normally when customs open a package and find a brand watch with no declaration or documentation like about a repaired watch, they will contact the addressee and will charge import tax if picked up. If they think it is fake, the addressee will be notified about destruction of the watch or you could get a letter from a lawyer.
They will never send an empty package so I guess maybe a postman now is wearing your watch....speaking from personal experience...
In some countries DHL is responsable for the tax handling.
I feel your pain...DHL is horrible - even in Canada.
The best part is how they add an import tax, then they don't inform you. Meanwhile, you are waiting for the package to arrive, but it's still at the border awaiting payment.
The onus is on you to call them, pay via CC for them to release your package.
Believe it or not, I have the best luck with Canada Post, but TDs don't use regular mail - they like DHL for shipping to Canada...arghhh...
