Waterproof Rolex
G’day, I’m looking to buy a Rolex - Yacht-Master VSF VS3235 and I need it to be waterproof to a couple of meters. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? One of the online sites seems to advise strongly against getting the watch wet which I thought was odd.

I been in this hobby along time and have had bad luck with the term "water proof area"..
I have paid vendors in china $50+ EXTRA to ensure it was water resistant and still had some issues...
For a watch smith to ensure its tested to go under water- they really need to TAKE OUT the movement and - use a watch pressure tester..
one of the good ones is Esslinger Calypso Wet Waterproof Watch Tester.. This just test it to ensure how many BARS the watch can take..
Best a modder will tell you is its safe to wash your hands.. I wish i had better info on this.. I have had a few Franken Rolexs built which cost 2000$+ and the 2 modders (watch smiths) i used would NOT garauntee water proof.. Doubt you wil find someone who will garantee it, just hand washing! Good luck

It’s a pitty this…:(
I’m always so careful with my reps compared to my gens in this regard.
Wish they could be waterproof for swimming and showering.

I am not aware of any modder who will guarantee water proofing a rep watch.

I’m thinking:
From factory they have to have made sure the cases are airtight
Anyone can test the case afterwards if it holds against water under pressure
It can’t be fixed afterwards
Right ?

I purchase Citizen Eco-Zillla and using my Casio Frogman , they both are Gen watch and water proof from factory . I would Not risk $500 rep to swim with , just my humble opinion/ Hugs all
