Howdy!

Figured it was about time to post an introduction...and apologies, as it's likely TLTR. ;)

So, first Rep was at age 19...many, many moons ago. A Tag Heurer (thought I'd be like "Steve")/Tijuana, MEX. (y) Second venture...Rolex Blue SUB/Juarez, MEX. :cool: Needless to say...it was damn difficult getting that green color off my wrist. :LOL: Years later, I worked my way through the Casio Frogman/Hamiltons/Oris/Ball...and ended up at Panerai/Rolex/Omega/BP/IWC, etc...all GEN. Bought, sold, traded for several years over at Time Connection, and some at the Rolex forum. Had a lot of fun, went through a bunch of watches, and met some interesting people...but that damn "time" interferes, and I had to grow up...traded the watches for a mortgage, wife, and kid...and found them to be a more expensive "hobby". :(🤣

Anywhooo..."time" moves forward...paid off a couple mortgages; a College education, including grad school, for the kid, and moved into other hobbies. Cigars, knives, Bourbon, Mountain Bikes, to include the recent Electric Models (what a game changer for an old fart). Still have a few GEN's...Rolex Hulk/Explorer II 16570...and a PAM 001/hand-wind...with a **** ton of straps; and a few others watches in the drawer. ;)

Started looking around at adding another GEN piece...but just couldn't justify the price today vs yesteryear(s)...(how I wish I had held on to those Daytona's 😥). Had several dealers offer me three times what I paid for my Hulk, and twice for the Explorer...so was thinking of going that route, maybe trading up or sideways. But wait, why not go back to my REP roots 🤔...but maybe, try somewhere other than Mexico this time...ahh the bliss of youth. 🤣

So, hello all...Not sure what I have to contribute...maybe a decent sense of humor, plenty of experience in a bunch of different hobby formats...and a load of humility, from all the mistakes along the way. 🤑

Thanks for offering such a great community of education and interaction...and allowing me to be a small part of it. Though like Groucho, I'm generally not interested in any place that would have me as a member. 🤫 🤗

I hope you enjoy your stay here. It's a pretty quite place nowadays... except for the sales section.
The sentiment you have for gen prices really resonate with many people here, the price for the "brand" is ridiculous and the chinese factories literally show us that the cost of making a quality time piece doesn't cost more than a few hundred dollars.

Enjoyable introduction to read, yeah as above post stated it’s a bit quite here and there are lots of watches being sold in the sales section. For sure above the Mexico standard ;)

Rwi is probably gonna give you more of an active community in terms of discussion around an array of topics.
