Travelling to Europe in March next year and read that some customs will seize and fine replica pieces. Since the recent models e.g. Submariner, and Superoceans are close to genuine in appearance, - even using similar movements, how can I minimise the risk of seizure?
I love my sub but with the horror stories, is it only affecting the low grade fakes? Keen to hear the experience of others.
I never heard of customs confiscating a replica watch that somebody is wearing when they go through customs in Europe as I doubt customs in Europe is concerned if the watch you are wearing is rep or gen.
If I were you, I'd wear it on my wrist.
On the other hand, it's certain that if you're stopped with the box, false invoice, bag, etc... in your suitcase, that's another matter.
