Swiss Newbie living in Austria...

I´ve been surfin around quite a bit to find a forum like this. Swiss people are told to be watch geeks... and that is indeed true. Next to chocolate, cheese, mountains and the bank secret, what is my home country very famous for? Yeah, you know it.

In the first half of my life, I always have been a wristwatch fan, and I bought some nice genuine watches - including some IWC´s (the DaVinci SL and the 90´s DaVinci), some Breitling´s, and some other nice pieces like Fortis, TAG, Cartier and Chronoswiss - all this for my wife and myself.

Most recently, we found that the genuines are nice to have, but the pricing has become, well, incredible - like the whole jewellery industry, the margins are at levels which are no longer reasonable.

Anyway, what to do as a wristwatch lover? Well, yes, check out some reps, I think there are really nice ones out there. Just placed a first order today after 2 weeks of reading 3 different forums and checking like a dozen "quality" traders...

Well, I think it shall be a 111h, and an HBB.

Just went downtown to see both gens. Wow. Great timepieces! Hefty price tags! Even though I can get some nice discount on certain brands, pricing has become quite hefty in the past couple of years...

After some communication glitches, I decided to go with 2 different suppliers from 2 different continents instead of 1 single. Importing this kind of "critical" item into Europe is not without risk...

I´m eager now... to see those babies soon in reality, after having read so many good reviews in this forum. I´m hoping customs will not seize anything... they must be very busy anyway those days as we are approaching Xmas with big steps...

Searching some Xmas goodies for my wife - she is interested in some certain "brand inspired" jewellery... using the right terms brings you easily here...

And guess what: We will buy some nice watches, but no jewellery... even though there is a massive offer around. Prices in this case are far more beyond reality than in the rep watch industry. Raw material cost is really low in most cases, but the premium for a brand, and only for the brand, wow.

I have recommended some of my friends already to look around here... some of them hesitate a little as they feel a bit weak with their English. Same applies for me as soon as a conversation is going further than some tea or coffee time...
