I've been bitten by the watch bug
Hey everyone,
R here. I'm an project engineer for a large construction company. I first got into watches back in college when I spent a summer in LA. I would frequent "Sante Alley" and check out the latest and greatest reps, most of which would fall apart soon after their first wear. I think my engineering mind has kept my interest as I have begun reading repair and how-to books. I started my collection over 2 years ago with mont blanc timewalker pilot chrono rep and I am very happy with the watch. So happy that I plan on purchasing the gen sometime within the next year. I just bought my second rep, an ajoe 03-92 and I've sent it to Kent Parks for lume. I am more than pleased with the quality of reps our dealers offer and the wealth of information available on these forums. I'm already looking to add more watches to my collection, but I am much more cautious in my purchases now that I am also building my own.
In my quest for knowledge, I started purchasing old movements for practice and I started tear down and rebuilding just days ago. I am starting with PAM homages as a start, and already my friends are enthusiastic about what I am looking to build. I may have some potential buyers soon! I will make sure to post pictures of all my work to show others things I come across.
Thanks to all the members that make this forum the best place for information on the web. Cheers.!
