I wanted to introduce myself.. I am at University, I am 21 years old (studying Law and Politics) and I love watches, women and cars! I joined the forum because I want a place where I can see information regarding basically everything! Some of the other forums I frequent, are snooty. To me a silly question is one which remains un-answered.
I recently joined the army (PFT Saturday) and wanted a new watch. I previously owned four swiss watches, one was a Patek from the early 1950's which was given to me by my grandfather. The next I bought myself last year, was a 1986 two-tone datejust. This, unfortunately, turned me off Rolex - the plexi glass broke when I was playing tennis, the replacement took so insanely long so I threw the bastard in my parent's pool --> until yesterday. I decided; since I joined the military and i'm quite an active guy, that I need a new watch, an all rounder. I went to the local AD (I know a well-known watch maker) and got a great discount off a GMT-MASTER ii. I then went online to order a Replica so I could compare the two, I also like the idea of being able to mod the watch and doing some custom work! The fake should be arriving next week, I paid 239 USD for it.
I hope this read wasn't TOO boring, I have a D700 Nikon, so I will post photos of some of my watches early next week, or sooner if I get a chance. I look forward to hopefully (actively) contributing to the forum.
