I've been reading and lurking for a little while now, but figured I should make it official. What a great community this is, and this site is filled with so much information. Too much to absorb really :)

I'm from Canada, but am going on vacation to Dubai in about a month. I'm hoping to get a deal on a Seiko Spring drive over there, but if not, maybe a few deals on some other things. Does anyone know how the reps are over there? Apparently you can get them 'quietly' at the gold souk. Any info would be appreciated.

Also just a note in case anyone is interested. I came across Dubai's version of ebay,..it's called souk.com,..although you may have to google it to get to the site. Quite a few new and used gens on there,..I'm not sure I'm knowledgeable enough to know whether the deals are any good or not though. Or even if they are really gens.

Anyway,..glad to be here. Looking forward to building up a nice little collection of watches.
