PM sent.
You can now.
:)
-PM conversation stacking.
In short: you PM someone (start a 'conversation') and from that point on it will keep stacking messages under each other until you're 'done'. With done I mean you either: Stop talking to the person or you 'change' the conversation subject (done by starting a new pm/conversation with a _different_ title/header - this new message will also stack).
This resulting in a clear log from all your contacts indexed on subject - great for trading - and much easier in general.
-Rolex section to be extended w/ Tudor (Rolex & Tudor)
i gotta say guys.... RG is fast now!!
BIG congrats to the ppl who did this!!!!! thank youuuuuuuuuuu
absoultely.
English is of course RepGeeks 'primary' language.
I will look to add an option where one could unsubscribe from the language forums in the last 10 scrolling posts.
Maybe give a german subforum a chance???
i like it as it is, its one of the reasons i venture here more than darkside and rwg...just seems less cluttered...
dont care for the shout boxes and all tha other sillyness
+1 on the Tapatalk. Otherwise, the site is just great. :)
I think it would be a good idea if people can't edit out the price of the watch for sale AFTER it gets sold. A lot of people refer that for setting a price mark for selling their watches and at the same time, alot of people (buyers) use it to refer to that to see if another watch for sale is comparable in price.
Y'know what would be really cool? The ability to be alerted to new threads based on certain keywords in sub forums. For example if I was looking for a specific rep watch for sale, say a PAM183 - I could subscribe to keyword "PAM183" in the rep watch forum and whenever someone puts one up for sale it would trigger an alert. Perhaps could even make this a VIP feature since it would be a great and exclusive benefit to know when items come up before the general masses and may entice many non-VIP's to pony up and support this forum. ;)
Another suggestion, via PM:
"The avatar sizing is simply too huge, try with a mobile browser and you see. Not everyone runs with 22" LCDs. It would be neat if the avatar dimension is standardized to 90x90px and it will make the viewing neat without mis-alignment for each postings profile box on the left and textbox on the right."
I don't like this idea one bit! my avatar wouldn't look nearly as nice that small!
All kidding aside. Now that the site is much more stable, I agree with the others who've mentioned the search function...and also keeping people from removing thier prices from sales threads (this could be accomplished through a simple modification to the sales rules though).
Other than that, I'm happy. Thanks for providing this place for us.
New ideas bump

Agreed:D
A "participated threads" shortcut would be cool.
A more radical idea would be to go with a*"community builder" component. See a person's watch pics, "friends", etc. People are used to this facebook type of interaction now. Currently you get only to see a user's threads/posts, and that is done via an moderator's point of view. The inevitable "status update"&"wall post" might take a toll on the post count, but in the end, this is how communities evolved these past few years. Maybe it is for the best to follow..
Thanks All, happy to read you are enjoying the site.
This is only the beginning of the Re-Birth of The Geek!.
I've always liked the forums at fredmiranda.com (photography site). If someone edits the original post, it says the time edited and gives an option to view the previous version.
More suggestions (from a site noob)-
I'd like to be able to sort the posts within a forum by the original post date, not just the latest post date, this is mostly for the sale and vendor forums.
Also, on the front page have the 5 or 10 most recently created threads, and also the 5 or 10 most active threads. The current scrolling is a little annoying.
1.
Delete-posts (30 min max~ - just for double posts and other hick-ups.)
2.
Auto-refresh OR update message in topic. Meaning that you either get a pop-up that there's a new post in the topic your browsing, or that the site refreshes (I guess a message would be better).
3.
Hardcoded trade template.
In short: A list of mandatory forms that will have to be filled in prior to posting a sales/trade thread. -THESE WILL BE LOCKED WHEN STARTING THE THREAD-
- Sale price
- Sale shipping price
- Defects (cosmetically/mechanically)
- Liable for loss yes/no/partially
- Liable for damage yes/no/partially
(and the old rules)
This resulting in absolute clarity for buyers and potential buyers.
You can go as far as introducing a trade-indexing-search where you can f.e. search on a specific watch and check-out the min/avg/max price, last sold, and so on.
The idea is that you fill in these forms, post the topic, and update your price by adding a new price (updating the prices, rather than deleting it). Same can be done with all other fields, but all fields will be stored in a history log - this to make it as fair as possible, and give as much openness as technically possible.
The idea, visualized(raw & dirty):

(not sure if technically possible?)
thanks blix, your pictures were HUGE. I had to re size.
I have the pics and will look into this too.
Thank you for taking the time to really detail your idea.
Yeah, I resized them too - but that doesn't work, because all details become blurred. :( I hope it's possible, but I'm guessing it's a lot of work.
I will gladly help out with the easy stuff if you guys need help.
Tried my best to rescale AND make them visible:
