Didnt even know there was such a thread going on :D
Thanks for the nice post, I will look into Bric, Floto and Mulberry. LV doesnt get me hot tbh, not yet at least. Not being able to afford is another thing :p
Speaking of affordability, is there any place to order quality reps EU-side?
Are you guys for real? Is this subforum a joke full of trolls? I mean, maybe Im the only college kid on this site, maybe not? Maybe its because supposedly I live in the "worst dressed town in the US" But if I went out with anything mentioned in the op, I would get tones of looks from beautiful women, then they would burst out in laughter. I have a Armani jacket. I love the way it looks on me (and I love how I got it for $30 from my grandmother's used clothing shop) but I would never wear it just simply out on the town! Hell, I have a lot of class. I have spent my share of time in Aspen, no doubt. Those fur coat, black leather cowboy hat toting baboons are hilarious!
I get compliments on many of the things I choose to wear, watches, shoes(love my creative recreations), shirts I even wear hats other than beanies or baseball caps. But even with my style, I feel way over dressed. I keep clean in this town full of pot smoking hippies, take showers daily (for the most part) and shave the old fashion way. I have a great eye for design, as anyone who has seen my taste or looked at photos I have taken will tell you. But, I still can't even comprehend buying anything like a LV. I have a Dakine backpack which I use if I need to carry stuff with me...
I have expensive taste, just not the typical expensive taste.
Is it just that I don't live in LA?
to each their own jaross...
+1
i wonder what happened to posh. never seen her posting again.
i bought a lot of piel leather carry on bags as gifts and i use it also. LV's are nice but .....
Whether people assume an LV to be fake or not will depend a lot on context- as it will with any widely replicated item. If you are hanging out in Bal Harbour or Gstaad, people will probably assume it that it is real (although most of the real ones you see in such places are special editions, which helps distinguish them from the common production line and marks them off as real). If you are staying at a Super 8, then that's a fake, buddy.
My problem with the LV line is that even the real items are massively overproduced and hyperbranded. This is why I like the Utah line (at least for luggage), as it is a little more masculine anyway overall, and has LV quality without screaming LV to everyone- just those who know a little bit about the brand already.
That's true! Although I have to say that the couple at the Super 8 are far more likely to be carrying the real thing these days. Those people seem to be really concerned with what people are thinking and carrying the genuine bag helps dispel any anxiety that they might normally have.
I've seen way too many people with money carrying bad replicas lately. LOL It's like a hot trend of some kind!
This is a great thread. Thanks!
Love their warranty: 100 yr. warranty - If it goes before you do, we'll fix it or replace it for free
hello.
this topic is very interesting.
i am really interested in rep handbags and their quality.
which is the right place to buy a replica handbag?

IMO Porsche design is the way to go - not very repped, and has solid masculine designs

WOW. nice write-up. i wasn't even looking for a bag and i read all that haha.
Thought I would add a quick something to the pot. If you are looking for a really nice cheap(ish) gen bag, the Coach Thompson Messenger has been absolutely great to me for the past 6 months. I picked it up while on a trip after the messenger bag I had been using at the time fell apart (was just some cheap cloth bag). I decided that I would pick up a really good quality leather bag, but didn't want something with rigid sides because I can't ever fit all my stuff in those. Coach was having a 25% off preferred customer event at the time so I went in and picked up the bag for a cool $280 or so and have been very happy with not only how well it is standing up to being my daily beater bag (showing no signs of wear short of some wrinkles on the strap) but it really can hold a lot of stuff (my average carry is, 13" Macbook, charger, tablet, camera, cables and chargers for iPhone and Nokia Lumia, other wallet, pills, mini displayport to VGA and HDMI, card reader, Ethernet cable, moleskin, pens and sharpies, multitool, and whatever I need for my client visit). I am also a fan of the fact that standing upright it can fit under every airline seat that I have put it under (meaning that I have more foot room) and the magnetic closures hold the bag closed very well so my stuff isn't spilling out everywhere.
There are bags from the LV Utah and Targa lines that would be similar, however looking at Fab they are priced around $200 and at that point I am of the opinion that you might as well shell out the extra $80 and get yourself a gen. Say what you will about their women's stuff, but their men's line has me sold more and more as I look into it. The quality matches the price point very well from what I have been finding, and most of their men's line isn't full of the monogram (which I am becoming less and less a fan of).
I hope it helped a little or was at least entertaining! Coach does have nice men's things. The quality is nice and I would argue it remind me of the old style Coach stuff they made before they moved all production to China and thought that 'C' fabric was great to put on EVERYTHING!
Thanks for this, It's a great thread. I'm very keen on the new year to pimp my business attire!!
