Question Hello from the North East of England

    Hi,
I'm still finding my way around the site, very interesting, could spend hours reading all the posts. My interest in reps is fairly recent having picked up a Breitling Bently, special Ed rep for just £50 (from a colleague at work). Two sets of numbers on the back underneath the Breitling wings etc A25362 and below this number even smaller is 713071. I have no idea how good a rep it is but it looks great, has a good weight to it and keeps the time very well, so no complaints. I love watches big 45mm plus and would love to continue my collection with a really good rep. I accept that I would have to spend few hundred quid but I don't want to go into silly money, not for a rep even if the gen is a few thousand.
Am I being realistic? Any feedback on the Bently I have would be nice (even if bad news) and can someone give me the link to the posts with good dealers please.

Great forum; I look forward to being around for a while.

Welcome to the forum David! You'll find that there are a BUNCH of guys here from the UK. You may be supprised at how reasonably you can get a fairly accurate rep. Depending on the the particular model of watch, you can get a VERY close rep for just a couple hundred pounds, dollors, whatever. Some watches don't have ANY good reps available, while others have been refined over the years to the point where even the inexpensive versions are very good. If you are really looking for accuracy to gen, I'd avoid buying quartz reps of watches that are only sold in automatic in gen form. Best thing is to do your research here and find what the experienced collectors say about a particular model. And then when you DO start buying reps, we would HIGHLY recommend that you buy from the trusted dealers here on the forum. It's a big wild scary internet out there, and for every honest dealer, there are at least 10 scammers. The TD's here have been vetted by the forum owners and have proven to be honest dealers.

I too like large watches and have several. I don't have a Bently, but I've got a Breitling Super Avenger, two Graham Chronofighters, a Raymond Weil Nabucco, a Hublot Diver 4000, and a Hublot Big Bang King. These are all LARGE watches (46mm - 48mm), and I love the look and the weight on my wrist.

Any way, jump right in and join the conversations here.

    Kris
