    Default My experiences with Domenico

First of all I'd like to point out that this is not a bashing thread. Domenico is a nice guy and he tried to solve everything the best he could. The problem here was that his luming skills was not up to the task.

Ok, let us begin. I contacted Domenico a few weeks ago asking for a relume of my Breitling SOSF. He agreed and everything went smoothly until he asked for payment. I discovered he also did a movement service that I did not ask for, but after some discussion he told me that I did not need to pay for this. As a sign of good will I paid him the full amount anyway. Then I received the watch and was more or less chocked by the bad hour markers. The lume was gobbled up and I could spot the bad dots from a mile away.

I told Domenico I was not happy with the results. He offered me to send the watch back to him and have it redone for free. I accepted his offer. His second shot at reluming the watch was better, but still not good enough. Unfortunately I also discovered a scratch on the dial.

Now I contacted a Repgeek admin who gave me the advice to ask for a refund. I contacted Domenico again and he immediately repaid me 130 EUR for the lume and a new dial. The complete cost for this job was 182 EUR plus shipping x2, but I think the sum he repaid me is reasonable.

Anyway, I don't think Domenico did this on purpose. He is a nice guy and tried to help me the best he could. Now I must find a new dial. If anyone knows where I can find this please contact me! (Breitling Superocean Steelfish, Black Dial, "Swiss" ETA)

Special thanks to SFA437 for all the advice and the Repgeek members who supported me. You are great guys!

i'm glad that you decided to do review about domenicos modding work. it would seem to me that his work although this time came up short, he worked the situation well (although i think i would have wanted a full refund). good job making this public!

Thanks for letting us know about this. I have seen the other thread and you're right in asking for a refund.
Domenico is indeed a stand up guy for what I know, I think he doesn't have much experience reluming these types of dials though.
I hope you can source your dial and get it redone by one of the great lume artists we have here.

Good luck and thanks again for sharing.

I heard that Domi sent you 130 Euro and I also remember what I wrote you in a PM on RWI about reluming with Domi after you complaint.

Good review Mako, but you really should move this to the correct section "member and dealer trade review" under the "Trade Area" in the main forum. The owner of this area has the ability to edit and remove posts here, and in the future this post could disappear, it won't go missing in the right area...............
