Greeting from Seattle USA
Hi, I should say a little something about me for an introduction...currently a computer specialist with a yen for classic John Cooper cars (my daily driver is a verified '96 JCG). Previously a metrologist (calibration of precision tools like dial indicators, theodalites, micrometers, oscillioscopes and surface plates not a weatherman or meteorologist ) with an engineering degree from a family consisting of various engineering/artisan types. Extensively traveled in Pacific rim countries especially the Phillippines, Taiwan and Japan.
I tinker with leathers, woods and metals in my garage for fun making tools and furniture. Finding myself attacted to mechanical watches was just waiting to happen with my background and techniques I've used previously. The tolerances in the work are a good challenge and the tooling setups don't take up too much space. Right now I'm working with reproducing composites on SS base metal and hope to get a small CNC machine and focus on watch caseworks in really durable materials.
All for now
Mike
