    Default Newbie from Mississauga here

Been lurking on this forum and Replica-watch.info for say 3 months. Interested in reps because I genuinely like/prefer the design look of top brands, but realistically don't believe I need to put that kind of money into something that could be broken, stolen, lost, or stop working at any time.

I have now 2 reps, a DSSD and a Panerai 000, one bought through a trusted dealer (thanks D4M) and one from a nice Cdn (thanks ocyte).

Found my way to this thread list after some frustration with a reseller who didn't want my full price payment for a listed sale, because I didn't have enough feedback or posts.

Not sure if others here have had the same challenges/frustration, however I guess from my experience on other forums, someone could have a lot of feedback and still be a schmuk.

sorry if it sounds like I'm venting a bit, but the seller of the watch I wanted to buy, had problems he said selling to someone with little feedback. what he didn't think about was he was selling $2000 modded watches. Of course someone shelling out that kind of cash is going to be picky. I was buying a $270 watch, sheesh.

Anyway, thanks to whomever sees this for taking the time to read the first line. Looking forward to learning lots, spending lots, and toying lots.

    Go CANADA!

    Hi mcclutz,

I saw your post on TswissT's thread and I actually replied to it there. TswissT is a nice guy and please don't take his position personally but he got played recently by a new member and he doesn't want to risk going through the same again.
You make a good point saying a person can have tons of feedback and still be a bad buyer/seller but if the person is a active participant that you know for a few months or so at least you reduce the risk of something like happened to T happening again.
I too given the recent events in the replica forums am wary of selling to new members and will too reserve the right and give preference to someone I've dealt with in the past, or someone I know is a active member in the forum and that is simply because I know the person has some knowledge of the risks involved in this hobby of ours while a new member might not necessarily have the same knowldege lets say.

The same way a buyer should walk out of a sale he isn't confortable with I also agree the seller should be able to choose a buyer he's confortable with.
I just got pissed off cause I saw a really nice watch I wanted to pick up that was CONUS only even though I would take all risks on it to have it shipped to EU, but the seller is not confortable with shipping outside CONUS. Its frustrating I know and annoying but hey its up to the seller to decide if he wants to sell it or not.

Get around the forums, get to know the members, participate in the discussions and I'm sure that in no time you'll see that TswissT is a good guy and that this is a very nice community and the majority of the members here will only not help you if they can't.
You won't find a better community anywhere else trust me.

Default thanks, but perhaps my points are more about the process

I wasn't attacking TwissT, rather identifying perhaps a problem with the process that everyone on the forum has brought upon themselves. Perhaps in the interest of "customer service" we're being too lenient with refunds? I mean it is up to the buyer to do the diligence, people offering items up for sale/trade are not stores and those buying shouldn't be treating it as such. As a result of sellers attempting to act like stores, we empower a purchaser with the opportunity to get out of a deal. When was the last time you heard of someone buying something from a garage sale, going back to the house they bought it from and asking for a refund? or same could be said for buying something at a flea market.

Whenever I buy something, I do ask lots of questions, and weigh the risk of my purchase on the price I pay. I think in many ways, we've brought it upon ourselves. There's nothing stopping a seller from turning around and reselling it, assuming they didn't tell the world they bought it in the first place. Not sure, bit of a dilemma. I'll play the game because I like the product.

I belong to a number of forums, however I've never really grasped the need to get to know people virtually. Perhaps that's my loss. either way, I don't hold anything against TwissT, and I think he knows that.

    But thanks for the feedback.

Glad you were able to find some good watches nonetheless.....Its tough starting out on these boards but just continue to build your reputation by doing the right thing. Lots of schmucks out there and its hard for buyers or sellers to know who they are dealing with and if they will be here today and gone tomorrow. Hope you like that DSSD....I want one myself!!!

Mississauga is not that far up the 401, I used to do the Detroit/Windsor to Montral 401 drive, now that is some serious nothingness.

btw, my first fake ID was made on Younge street in Toronto and said I was from Mississauga.

Especially the stretch between Windsor and London.

Welcome, I have been there myself, easy access to Toronto by Subway. It reminded me a little of East Texas where I'm from, except for the Subway thingy.
