Welcome to the money pit! That PO sure needs some help - you'll discover some reps here that are 98% accurate and probably cost even less than that one. Search "UPO" and you'll see what I mean.
    Current Reps: Breitling SOSF/Seawolf/Blackbird, Omega 2535.80 GMT/2594.52 Chrono/CrPO, PAM 111.

Picked it up for $35 not including shipping, what's so off about it just out of curiosity? Tried searching "UPO" and nothing came up... not sure what it means!

I actually like the dial on the PO there but its not even close to the genuine.

The term UPO refers to the Ultimate Version of the Planet Ocean (Ultimat Planet Ocean) on sale by most dealers on the site. Is supposed to be the most accurate version of the watch and most parts are interchangeable with genuine parts to make what we call a Franken watch.
The fact that you can interchange parts such as dial, bezel, crown, tubes, inserts, etc with genuine parts is what makes this model super appealing to the replica collectors.
Although this version is called Ultimate and is very accurate it still has some noticeable flaws, the current dials appear to have the writting too close to the 6 numeral at the bottom and you've probably seen the omega symbol being reffered to as happy feet, this means the feet of the Omega symbol curl a bit upwards (like a smiling omega) which is incorrect to the genuine. These are the most noticeable flaws of the UPO but there are a few more if you're really anal, the good thing is most of these can be fixed by replacing the parts with genuine parts.

The dial and especially the hands on the Phantom are a dead giveaway that it's not a gen. They're far too light. Just a little of my own insight. I hope that I didn't incite you!

    welcome to RG

you can get a cheap BR phantom from Stan (WBK) that is probably closer to gen.

as for UPO (short for Ultimate Planet Ocean) most dealers have them.. there are lot's of reviews here about it. here you go... a bunch of reviews

on RWG ( a different forum - some great info there as well )

That planet ocean came from Silix right? I actually don't think it looks bad, but as far as I know the dead give-away is that Omega has never made an orange bezel planet ocean with white numerals on the dial - Thats the kind of thing that irritates the more serious geeks on here, but in my opnion will *never ever* be noticed by a person who doesn't share your interest in watches, and can you imagine someone on this board being rude over a rep's flaws? More like a way to make new friends.

Yeah doesn't really bother me. It is the $35 dollar model from Silix, not bad for the money IMHO. The dial seems pretty dead on to me but the Helium valve and the crown seem short just going off pictures, I haven't had the opportunity to put it next to a gen. I still like it though, might pick up an orange band for it, as the band I have on it is off. Doesn't say Planet Ocean under Professional, but I agree noone would notice it.
