1000th POST! Yea.....

Man I wanted to say thank you to RG staff, and members for keeping this the #1 community. When I joined this site in 07 I certainly wasn't the first member, but I have been around long enough to see things change a lot. I have been active in the rep community for over 20 years (more like 30 but thats another story). Long before forums I loved watches both gen/rep. The forum has allowed people from all walks of life to come together and share info. The quality of the reps has become so good that our watches are now top of the line time pieces. We'd still be back in the stone age I think if it weren't for the hard work of admin, staff and members sharing info and keeping this hobby alive.

One thing thats hasn't changed is the attitude of the site, RepGeek. One of the best things about it was always been wanting to keep it a family type place with friends discussing their hobby. When the attitude of some of "upper management" changed RG still took a stand and moved forward to keep it a top quality site. I have read comments that staff treats members with a heavy hand. Well at the end of the day, sometimes a heavy hand is needed to maintain order and peace. When RG was down for a bit recently wide spread panic happened. WHY? People could go to other forums and enjoy them as well. Well truth be told for most of us RG is home.

Some of the most honest sellers in the watch world I've had transactions with in the rep world. I own MANY very expensive gen watches only to have learned one thing. Most sellers in the rep world are more honest, and more professional. I've learned that rep "geeks" know more about watches then many in the gen community. By some circles we are on the low end of the hobby world. For those with this view, they have never come to know the quality of people I have.

I wanted to take a second to say thank you to the RG staff for maintaining the quality of this site the 5 years I've been apart of it. While faces have come and gone the site has only gotten better. The new layout is awesome and members are back up and enjoying the site more then ever. Thank you to the staff for keeping it a nice place to be. Keep hitting the ban button when needed, but more then anything thank you for allowing members to enjoy a peaceful site. I fell away from the forum community for a time, and it was a pleasure to see after a absence this site was alive and better then ever. Hats off to admin, and the mods team!

if you remember, what was your first rep and how much did it cost you? do you stil have it?

First rep, Rolex really horrible gold, non sweeping, date. Bought it on Canal St. with my allowance, when I was under 10, 30+ years ago. They lasted a good month, if you got lucky they may run a few months. But for $5-$7 what cha going to get, lol
