That's how it works! If you leave a bag in your car but not in the direct sun, it will also turn a little quicker. You have to crack the window to reduce the heat some because if it gets too hot it can shrink the leather, if in the back or front windshield, but not before crisping it completely, like headresta in the back seat that also become dry and hard. I'm sure you have noticed this.
