    Default WAP access

Have you considered having a WAP version of this website? I am truly addicted to this site with all of the different forums within. I would love to have a "watered-down" version for cellphone/mobile access. For instance one of the other forums I frequent is www.howardforums.com they have a WAP site - wap.howardforums.com or another forum - wap.blackberryforums.com . These are all designed to be easier and faster for cellphones to load. Maybe even as a VIP membership perk?

    What do u think?

I visit this forum just fine on my phone (two year old Moto Q). I think creating a WAP version would be a wasted effort since most new phones can view HTML pages, and phones that can't are being phased out.

lol...yeah that too :-) Actually I was considering getting one when they come out with the 3G model. However, the 3G antenna won't work on T-Mobile's new 3G frequency... so i'll still better off with my blackberry with Opera Mini browser.

...unless of course you wanna donate one to me

don't get me wrong - of course it works, but would make it load faster and easier to navigate. I guess the consensus is a big "negative..." Oh well...

I do see your point, and my suggestion would be to put an RSS reader on your phone, as that will help, and plug into the feed... personally i navigate on the iPhone and find it perfect, and given the way technology is moving.. i.e. towards the iPhone... it is pretty hard to justify the work to make a mobile version... but then again if you want to PM inferno, and give it a go!

Although it is still officially a "rumor," the rumors are overwhelmingly compelling. Take a look at macrumors.com for further details.

I totally see your point. I'd like to have a stripped down skin for iPhone browsing as well.

I browse on an iPhone frequently. I found that turning off the sigs and the avatars significantly improved the load times for both WiFi and EDGE browsing. You can find these settings in your profile preferences.

I am from the nicer side of the pond, and dont work for 02... just a big fan of the iPhone, as you say the evidence is compelling, I have played with the new firmware, but who knows what apple will do on the 9th?

I agree about the faster/upgraded iphone - if you go to Apple and try to buy the current generation, they all list as "Sold Out".

I'd bet they are trying to avoid the fiasco of "I just bought the old one last week and want a refund!" flurry.

I surf from my berry all the time too and it does oad slow but turning off the banners, images and avatars mkes it load much faster as it turns into a txt only load for the excpetion of the background and incon images. Ill see if there is something that I can do based on the IP address ranges for the cell carriers that it comes from.

As far as faster wifi for the iphone I cant do anything about that as its depedant of the speed on the device.

You can determine stuff like that from the browser ID string. If it's not Gecko, Mozilla, full-blown Safari or Opera, it's a phone and you want to turn off almost all the extraneous javascript.

I've been thinking of doing an iPhone skin but there are already a few:

All berry addresses have been removed about 2 weeks ago from the ban list. I can get in from mine no problem.

Damn, I'm wondering if it's just a regional thing then... yesterday was a bunch of times, today was only once. Helps keep my sanity at work...
