    Yeah, throwback (and throwaway) tech. Mechanical buttons are the first to go in terms of reliability. In the men's dorm where we stayed during a lengthy training trip, we found a lot of, um, Japanese tapes. And one of those was not particularly pleasing to watch (cringe worthy in fact). And one of the stupid guys in my group thought it would be okay to lend it to our female trainees who stayed in a separate dormitory. Fortunately, as the VHS player (I don't think it was Betamax Hahaha) in their room had a broken rewind button and we had forwarded the tape almost to the end (because we thought the theme was only a part, turns out it was the whole tape), they were only able to see less than a minute of it. But it was enough to turn the stomachs of some of them. There were no further incidents of sharing stuff from the boys dorm to the girls after that.
