How Did You Find Out About RG Before You Joined RG?
How Did You Find Out About RG Before You Joined RG?
In 2009, I considered purchasing a rep watch on EBay from a seller who had zero feedback which would have most likely been a mistake. When I contacted him about the watch and asked him where he purchased the watch he advised me RG and provided me the website for RG. I checked out RG and was at first skeptical because I was scammed by the scammer website Bestswiss and was first reluctant to purchase a rep watch from a seller on RG. Upon browsing the RG website and reading posts I realized RG was a "legit" website and my chances of being scammed was slim. I was more than impressed to read posts about franken reps and the great experiences RG members had with RG TD's. After my first purchase I signed up to become RG VIP.

Back around 2006-2008 I found a website called "iOffer" and with some interesting looking offer, some nice looking LV subs and YM with "Swiss" movements ... through there I connected with Eddie Lee ... and around 2009 I found this place as a resource where I could learn more about Reps and not get ripped off when going to buy a GEN. Over time I was blown away by the vast knowledge and camaraderie of members on this site. When you first hear about replica websites, you probably think about a site full of these seedy scumbag criminals ... after a while, I learned that not everyone here is a criminal. ... seedy? scumbags? ... maybe.
Well, been almost 10 years on here, and I owe everything I've learned to this place and the sister forums. Also, having REPs have allowed me to take apart and tinker with them ... something I probably would never do with my GEN watches.

Back in the 2005, I bought a Canal street grade Panerai off a now extinct site called Classonewatches. Does anyone remember that scam site? Well, needless to say I started doing my research on getting a much better grade Panerai, and, we'll, here I am!

Like you I was scammed on one of those scam rep watch sites. Amazing how many folks were scammed by the rep watch sites. I fell for the trick which was 1 to 1 rep to gen, Swiss movement, water proof, gen Swiss parts, and etc. I was so naive and stupid to believe the rubbish on the rep watch scam site and fell for the bogus marketing. After being scammed on the rep scam site I started searching for reps on EBay, little did I know the reps being sold on EBay were junk, thank goodness I never purchased a rep watch on EBay.

I don’t remember the specifics but it was from searching the internet back in 2007 or 2008. It was the first replica forum that I joined. I had purchased from some non TDs before that time. I never was ripped off but the quality was poor. My first big purchase after joining RG was a BK TW 16610 for $680. I couldn’t believe I was spending that much on a “replica watch.” I still have that watch and it runs great.

I haven't been around as long as you guys, but a similar story. I bought a rep Air King from an unknown site.
Well when I say it was an Air King, that's what it said on the dial, and when I say rep I mean that it vaguely resembled a watch.
On receipt of the watch I realized that I knew s*d all about the rep business and I searched around for some info and found something about the Air King that came from this site. It took me a month I think before paying up to be a VIP member. At the time I also enrolled in RWG and RWI, but I haven't been on either of those for over a year now.
