    Thanks Posh,

being new here probably won't give me much credibility, but i tend to be kind of a sucker for a "distinctions" in a uniquely designed products.

Having put myself in to a frustrating dilemma over the past few week over the: "Can you feel the mesmerizing moment of uniqueness with the rep watch", i somehow suddenly feel the presence of lucidity.

Thank you for putting the "there" into there and conclude you insights with the level of taste and knowledge that share both evident pedigree and esthetic depth that is rarely seen.

Hope all these makes some sense

First off, let me thank you for being your first. First post that is! I'm glad you liked it enough to leave a comment. And what you're saying makes plenty of sense.

You're the type of client/consumer/customer that companies are all vying for: a discerning one. Although the mindless consumer is sometimes great for the bottom line in the short term, there's no relationship cultivated with that customer with your brand. They won't continue buying your goods because they'll buy anything. So next The Next Big Thing comes along and you've lost revenue because that customer doesn't know a thing about why your company, products and services are better than Fly-By-Night Industries.

Just as much as it is important to see these watches, I think it's also important to know something about why they even exist and how that coincides with the passion, if any, of the makers behind these watches/bags/whatever and brands. These days, it's not just about the product because by and large most companies have the same items with different levels of quality or finish. It's about the total experience and image your item projects to the buyer and others with whom the buyer comes in contact.

There has to be a there there.

    Hi Posh,

thanks for the reply. I love timeless design that holds not just a personal note of designer so masterfully and vividly incorporated into an object of desire, but also a story or even a quest of artisan to produce something unique and worth holding on daily and caressing your mind with it over and over.

Thats why i own Burmester amplification, Sonus Faber Guarneri Memento loudspeakers etc. Sometimes it's worth to invest into something that makes you appreciate yourself daily, simply by understanding and respecting the work, time and detail that somebody ELSE invest into his creation. By that we learn to appreciate the individuality and controlling our envy in a healthy and harmonious way.

    To the watches...

    Breguet: http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1966

really catch my mind. What a timeless classic with an working complications. Really great tip. Thanks!

You sure holds all the right attributes that indicate your design alerts and compel yourself to kindly share your impulses with us .

    Don't forget:"Watches are the men's jewelry."

Is this my imagination or did the new Seiko Premier line incorporated some of the great design moments from DeWitt, VC, Breguet watches that are mentioned here?

Good write-up, I personally wouldn't wear any of the watches reviewed but that's just me (the DeWitt is an abomination). You mentioned earlier that you would bet money that someone could pass off a modded Panerai on the Paneristi forum. On that count you are dead wrong, to those with knowledge of the brand, no matter how well modded the watch, their are still significant and noticeable differences. Even on the humble Historic models the dial differences and the finishing on the movements isn't even close and is a dead giveaway. And of course their are no reps of the in-house movement models IE. 233, 270 etc. In fact even franken projects with gen movements have been called out on Risti, believe me it's been tried more than once without much success. So although you may not have much use for Panerai, the statement that the reps are identical to the real deal is drivel, I have owned quite a few Pam reps and I currently own quite a few gens and I can say that when you hold a gen and rep side by side, it's no contest, that even includes the so called "super reps". And as for trying to pass a rep off in an AD that is NEVER a good idea and is pretty well frowned upon in our little hobby, Good work nonetheless.
