Just a quick introduction to all other addicts. I just joined at suggestion of 'Whirled', I've been a GEN hog for the last few years and dipping my toes in repgeek. In my small GEN collection, I have a Breitling Chronospace automatic, IWC Chronopilot, Hamilton Khaki X-copter, Chopard Mille Miglia flyback Jacky Ickxx, and an Omega Michael Schumacher Speedmaster.

I just ordered my first one from Andrew at Trustytime this weekend, a Panerai 1950 Flyback. And Andrew was fast, communicative and efficient. Quick question, does anyone know if an extra black leather breitling band will fit on the Panerai, if I want to swap out the rubber band that it comes with? They both have a 24mm band spec, just wondering if I need to know anything special to swap them out.

Also, looking for a new steel band watch, any recos for new models out there at a diameter of 42+. Not a huge Rolie fan, my old man wears those, no offense.

As far as the straps go, they are a big reason Panerai is such a popular rep brand. They lend themselves VERY well to switching straps and changing the whole look of the watch. I, like alot of the PAM collectors here have a fairly wide selection of strap choices, and change up all the time. There are quite a few custom strap makers here on the forum who produce awesome work! You shouldn't have any trouble mounting MOST 24mm straps on that watch. Some PAMS including the 'Fiddy' models and some of the submariner models use a 26mm strap. The Radiomir models come with a 27mm strap, but people mount 26mm all the time. Changing the straps on a pam is MUCH easier than on some watch brands. Most have screws at the lugs, while a few have a quick release system. You can change a pam strap in under a minute I'd guess.

If you are looking for an SS watch with a bracelet and want to avoid Rolex, probably your LARGEST selection would be Breitling or Omega. Most Breitling and Omega models are available on bracelet. But there are lots of other choices as well.
