Hello...from college!

Hello everyone from this great forum! I got interested in reps when I first discovered Panerai - great watch, to me it's all about simplicity and function.

I ordered my first rep from the prince - a 111h pvd asian movement - and so far I'm pleased with it. Yeah the cannon pin is low, yeah the lume is terrible, and yes the crown is thin and the crown guard loose, but it's a good start

This is why I'm collecting parts right now. I just bought a Jimmy Fu case and bezel and get this - A GEN CROWN. I'll post more info and thoughts about this in the panerai section soon.

Oh yeah, and to try to fund all of this without having to drop out of college, I've been starting to make straps

We'll see how it goes and keep your heads up for hand crafted quality straps!

Mike welcome brother. In college you gotta be with a budget man. You cant dip into the W n W fund for no reason. Unmodded ones is where I started as well and later I moved into the modded ones. Nice you picked up a gen crown and a Jimmy fu case. Now get a dial and handset already lumed from Flav and fix your lever and your good to go. Just be careful working on the dials as they scratch easy.

You get what you want with your budget... as long as you are happy with it.. slowly save up a bit and start modding it... then whoala.. almost perfect pam.

Whoa that was fast. Just another sign of a great forum and great moderators. Thanks for the advice for the dial set and crown guard. I'll look into it...as soon as I get the straps started and if I'm lucky sell some!
