    Default This is amazing.

I have been a watch collector (reps and gens) since back in 2000. Was a moderator for the original RWC till that imploded and Thomas started TRC in 2002(?). Hung out there for a couple of years, then sold off my collection except for a few favorites. Got tired of sites and dealers appearing and disappearing, paying for a watch and just hoping it shows up, and works.

After a handful of years, I have the bug again, and show up here....

    and this is absolutely amazing.

It's a huge active community. Worldwide, there wasn't this many of us. Not close. And the watches... even 4-5 years ago there was nothing close to what I am seeing here. Reps like the UPO and SFSO are so refined, differences are almost moot. Rolexes have been turned into an art form. So many retro. And after you buy it, there are so many upgrades which can be done. The great thing is that the factories are making more to gen size. Unbelievable.

Well, I have to look around more and take it all in. I'm a rookie again, so I don't know proper manners, but I'll ask this anyway... I would really like to get the "customs" issue out of the loop on purchases. Is it alright to ask if any of the preferred dealers have this problem licked for the CONUS?

    Anyway, y'all are amazing.

Most of the trusted dealers of repgeek will send you another watch is yours is seized by customs in the US.

I know Josh & Andrew cover the cost of free replacement if your watch is seized, but I'm not sure about the others. I'm in the Southeast US, my watches have all gone through JFK in NY, and I've not had one watch seized in more than 2 years and about 50 reps purchased from China.

When I read "MBW" stood for a specific standard of watch, I was surprised. I remember when "Maria" was a real person. He/she set up shop, and had a reputation of being difficult to complete a transaction with. But occasionally he/she would get a watch to the buyer, and it was really excellent for the day.

Eddie Lee got a his and hers pair of YM Rolesiums for me. My wife still wears hers quite often.

BTW, I just looked at a review of a Rolesium over at RWC. What does the "WM9" designation stand for?

U.S. seems to be one of the easiest to get through customs. I hear the only hot spot is Dallas but almost everything on the East coast comes in through New York.

All the best dealers will guarantee you get delivery or they will re-ship.

Welcome back and pull out your wallet.

WM9 simply stand for "Watch Maker9". You can check his site at http://www.watchmaker9.tv/
Great to have you on the board. Enjoy!

Ticktock, welcome. Very cool that you're back. I think you will indeed be blown away by the progress in RepLand... Look forward to more of your observations.

Heeeeeey TT, it's been a long time if you even remember me. Good to see you man. I feel like an old fart myself now. Things have continued and quality continues to get better. However, there is always that one step forward two steps back issue. Prices have gone up waaaaaaaaay out of control, and gen ETA2824-2 virtually doesn't exist and gen ETA2836-2 are getting very hard to get too. Hell, even the CN DG4813 is hard to get! Don't know what that's all about. However, the casings have significantly improved but I don't know if the cost is where it should be.

I'm phasing out myself and have only 5 reps now. Tag, man. Maybe when you phase back out, I could tag back in.
Gen shoppinglist: Lange Sax, Moon, Daytona, Grand Seiko SBGA413
