    Default Movement Quality Help Needed

    Hello All -

I have read through a ton of information in this forum but am overwhelmed by the information. I'm sure there is a summary of movement types somewhere, but I haven't found it.

Can someone post a brief summary of some of the movement options for the watches, which ones to stay away from, which ones tend to be better?

I would like a nice, smooth sweep to the second hand similar to a Gen, but I can't afford the best.

    Any help is appreciated.

It really depends on what watch you want first. To run down even the few basic movements available and their strong points or flaws would take quite a while. Why don't you ask instead about your first watch choice, and we can more easily guide you, cool?

My wife likes the Tag Heuer Link Ladies watch with the pink face
    http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index....oducts_id=4703
It looks like both the Gen and the Rep are both quartz so I don't think there are any questions on this one but it would be nice if anyone has any comments on the quality of this watch.

I want to pick up a Tag Heuer - probably an Aquaracer 500m which I see versions listed with Swiss ETA 2824, Jap Quartz Chrono - and a few versions of the watch with Chronographs and just the date.

And later, I want to pick up either and Omega Seamaster or Speedmaster - I haven't decided yet - sorry to be vague but I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for helping a total rookie...

if you like a watch and want to keep it, I'd recommend a swiss movement... if you want to buy to see if you'd like a gen, or just for the looks and don't care how long it will last or how good it will be, Asian ... I tend not to buy quartz.. hate changing batteries and don't like the seconds hand sweep of a quartz....
