Default Strap It On: Yes, it's an unlikely "Help me choose!" post.

Well, the title to this thread could have some innuendo buried deep within; it could possibly refer to the Anthrax song featuring Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott or the first album by hard punk quartet Helmet. But in this case, it refers to the large and lonely N-Maker 111M that I was given last year and, more specifically, to the watch's unholy strap.

As anyone who's seen my Birkin post knows, it has an ugly brown replica Giovanni E Figlio strap that I think the sender said came with the watch along with a rubber strap that I couldn't wear because of the amount of holes. Just before that post, I was going to IKEA and Hakky in White Marsh Mall to get the tips on a pair of high heels repaired and thought they could do the strap, which they did. It was a butcher job, clearly, but it didn't matter because the strap is trash anyway. They put three extra holes on it but one extra probably wouldn't have hurt.

I hate not using a gift I'm given because, well, I think it's rude (and it is, isn't it?). The watch is not really my taste at all and my fiance refused to wear it because he just didn't like it. It wasn't given to him anyway so I'm okay with that! LOL He said I look cute in it so I'm rather inclined to try wearing it properly. He seems to think a nice strap would go a long way in getting me to wear it out more (!) and maybe to changing my opinion of this brand (doubt that). However, I don't need many excuses to buy accessories so I'm kinda excited about getting something really unique and bold, like me! Which leads me to my dilemma.

As much as I HATE those "help me choose blah blah blah" posts, that's exactly what this is. The brown strap is very, very thick. It's entirely too thick and I know I don't want a strap that can double as a weatherstripping. Sooooooo, help me select a strap to wear on this watch. I know NOTHING about Panerai watch straps. I have a budget, I think, but if I really like the strap, I'll stretch. The strap has to have a lot of holes because I prefer any kind of strap that's not metal to be tight to my wrist. That will make this impossible if I get anything but a custom strap, maybe.

I will take three of the best suggestions and choose one. If I don't like any of the suggestions, I'll throw my hands up, pout and be generally disagreeable. Won't really be different from usual then, I suppose.
Anyway, let's have fun with it!

I know most people like the thick, chunky leather straps but I'm with you. When I switched to a thinner, tapered strap it looked remarkably more refined.

In the review the straps are 24-24 but if you check on EBAY for "Bob Marino" you will see they have a 24-22 offering.

    I'm partial to this one:

The dark edges contrast well with the light leather and the keepers are nice and slim.

Thanks, funk soul brova! These are nice but I was hoping for something a little more feminine and exciting. Maybe an exotic in a fun color like, oh I don't know, red or another color that pops. But I'm not picky.

I already have a tobacco (on a 104I) & a wheat gator along with a few more simona straps and they are amazing quality and have worked wonders for my leather fetishism!!

Perhaps I could entice you into a nice gator.
Ive got multiple colors which are more on the feminine side.

Ive got purple, pink, red, blue, white, black, etc.

    Hornback or belly skin.

Maybe a stingray would work as well.

I've heard of your wares! Red or white or pink would be perfect. I think I want an exotic skin. I like the bumpiness of the hornback but think smooth would be good. Maybe the hornback would make it look to rustic. I can't decide! Maybe both. Do you have a site?

Not yet. It's overwhelming. And with this much choice, I tend shut down. Sensory overload. It's like when I first went to flagship Louis Vuitton store in Paris and went into coma.

Strap it on, this baby's got the holes you're looking for. Ahem, that is, I've got you covered!

    Panerai OEM? ✔
    Red & feminine? ✔
    Does it pop? ✔
    Extra short size? ✔

    … just needs a buckle.
