    Default newbee section

    May i suggest a newbie section with reps 101, 201, 301 etc.

Each posting having a small link library by topic.

so many times i ask or see someone ask a QA only to have some experienced/long time user say "that QA has been asked 1000 times...here is the link.

instead, that person can say go to the newbee section everything you need to know is there....if not, post a new topic.

e.g. I wanted to replace my crown & tube on my SMP....had search alot and i did not find the answer (Kahn answered it in the end....very nice guy)

    QA

I got the SMP crown and tube from Ofrei...

    1) The tube is much smaller (was that your experience?)

If your answer to #1 is yes
how did you retro fit it (crazy glue
    Epoxy glue?, other)...

How did you get the old tube out?

    2) The crown has a slightly different shape (rep is slightly more "pointy")

    3) although the stem looks like it is the same size I am not sure (was your the same)

Most likely you have a different rep than i have but you may have had a similar experience and I may learn a lot from you on how to deal with my mods.

    Answer (by Kahn....thanks!)

No bother at all! Happy to help anytime...

The tube is smaller..that's a fact! As for adhesive, I used golf club shafting epoxy (ebay)[j-b weld is just as good, Claudeb1966). It's solid as a rock but you can torch it out if needed. I did my PO this way too and I have had no problems what so ever. Waterproof too.
Getting the rep tube out...heat it up with the tip of a solder gun - she'll move!

Stem is definatly different - Change the stem! Cheap, cheap, cheap insurance.....

I don't mean to knock down your suggestion ,as i know you are just looking to help.
We do have a SEARCH BUTTON though that seems to be very, very underrated, but is there for a reason.
To answer most of the questions a simple sarch would do.

I have not had much success with searching (have nt figured out how to do an "and" "or")....but i did discover the tutorial area......this is what i envisioned anyhow.

    Thanks for the feedback.

BTW see my new post in the tutorial area on the topic above...with pics

that would save alot of time for us and give the new guys/gals a chance to get educated and learn the ropes and then move into the big, vast world that we all love and know as the geek world haha
