Default Im in the mist of a purchase.

    Hello everyone!

First of all i want to point out that im new at this and have some trouble finding my way on this forum, but im getting better at it!

So sorry if this is in the wrong catagory!

I might aswell introduce myself at the same time,

Hello, my name is Magnus and im an addict, to these beutiful watchs i mean!.
I joined this wounderful site yesterday and it has been an hartwarming experience.

And now to the topic of this Thread!
I have chosen the watch i want to buy, but there are to many alternatives to chose from, so i can't decide.

I have chosen the Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish with the white dial.
but wich movement is the best? and are there different verisons depending on wich site i buy it from?, or is the quality the same at all the dealers?

I have read the "beginners guide" but have not found clarity in this matter.

Im greatful for all replys and thought on this matter.

Best reguards from the worlds most neutral country... SWEDEN!

If you want the closest watch to the real thing, choose the eta movement.
this will come w/ the double AR'd glass and is the best watch you can get.
i believe that silix-prime is the only place to get the eta at the moment.

This is a good question and there has been a little debate on several threads on the boards.. I have both the ETA and Asian.

I have the ETA version for the Blue dial...wow is it nice.

I have the Asian for the white dial....not as nice but just fine.

so, depends on what you want....

others will chyme in...both are nice..obviously double AR is better and ETA for parts etc is better but, it cost me 125% more to buy the Eta version.

well worth it to me...but to you?????

If you really want to do it right, get the ETA. It will last, and the Anti Reflective (AR) coating will look the closest to gen. If you get the white face, the ar coating won't make THAT much of a difference actually telling time in the sun, but will still be a sign that it's not a gen. Good choice for your first rep.
    275. A real decent price for what your getting.

    Hi Winn,

Welcome to RepGeek. If your a watch addict, you found your home.

For this watch, if you seek the closest to the 'gen' go with the double AR ETA version. It's one of the best we have seen in sometime.

    cheers and again, welcome!

as a reference, hers is the Asian version..."light' AR, but for me - perfectly acceptable.

Welcome to RepGeek - fun, friendly, flame free and informative.

I have also found that the other speccs vary aswell... like size is different from dealer to dealer is this something to be concerned about? for example:

    http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1857
superocean 42mm (this is the steelfish right?)

    http://www.trustytime88.com/index.ph...oducts_id=1249
    superocean steelfish 44mm

is it the same rep but differently measured?

I have the white eta double AR...can't get it off my wrist...I LOVE IT!

Mine came from Silix...he has the best price right now (I think) and he stands behind his product as do all of our other recommended dealers. Good luck and post some pics when you get your new watch. Welcome to RG!!

I also asked about size differences but have been advised by the senior memebrs that all these watches come from the same factory (apartment LOL).

Yes, go with the eta!! If you want it as accurate as possible get yourself a gen rubber strap! The SS bracelet is the weak point on this rep.
    And welcome to the forum!

    Best regards

whats wrong with the SS band?

Magnus...it's also a great time to become a VIP. For $25 bucks you get a lifetime membership; entered into free raffles for all sorts of good stuff and the cocktail waitresses serving drinks in the VIP section are all topless.

winn the watch is 42mm. some dealers have it listed incorrectly, but its 42.5mm to be exact. The asian one has light AR but the swiss has double AR. The gen has double AR so it is best to go with the swiss.

The speccs of the steelfish on silix page match exacly with the speccs of the superocean (non steelfish model) and all other sites have the steel fish at 44mm, it just makes me wounder...

Tusen tack! as we say in sweden (thousan thanks) Syler for you input and help!
