The project was started by taking a standard cali/3646 case either one of Hixxy's (POC) or a Silix case. The images below show the project step by step....

Below:

Stage 1: The case has been bored out through the middle, then a square peg has been added into the side of the case wall. This peg is to hold the movement ring in place (the peg can be found on all authentic Cali & 3646 cases).

Stage 2: The top surface of the Case was machined flat... this makes the case a little thinner however the main reason is to allow the wide Cali bezel to sit flush on the case. Without this machining there would be a gap between case and bezel...

Next the case was shaped and the lugs and stem tube soldered

Here the internal case ring is made. The bezel and also the case back will screw onto this brass movement ring. Note the square slot that sits on the case peg

Cali hands...these are too bright and will be aged later

Decided to make my own Plexi, here it is before polishing

Next the case back is polished

Note the inside of the case back is threaded not the outside as per the authentic Cali & 3646

Assembled for the first time, just need to fnd a couple of movement screws to secure the movement to the brass movement holder.
