Hello from Los Angeles!

A few years ago, I discovered the difference between a quartz watch movement and a mechanical one. I decided to get myself a watch with a smooth sweeping seconds hand and I stopped wearing my cheap quartz watch. I've spent untold hours scouring eBay for used watches. Unfortunately, the ones I can afford are usually old and in rough condition. Almost all the watches I bought on eBay stopped working pretty quickly.

Some months ago I found out about replicas and stumbled upon RepGeek.com. Now it's like I won the lottery--so many fantastic watches are no longer hopelessly out of reach. I've already bought a couple of rep watches: a used PAM036 from a Dutch forum member and a new ceramic Chopard from Puretime. I would love to own a vintage PAM and I've been talking with people here about how to make that happen.

I have a 4-year old girl, and when I'm not researching watches, I'm often photographing my kid and my wife. Lately I've also enjoyed experimenting with macro shots of my new watches. I look forward to sharing some of my photos with the forum soon.

Yesterday I upgraded to VIP membership--I thank everyone who helps make RepGeek so informative and fun.
