Hi from Germany!

Hi guys,

since I've been silently reading over the last couple of days, I just wanted to introduce myself! I'm Pablo, 26, and pretty much a newbie when it comes to watches.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to an estate auction - which I sometimes do cause I'm totally into vintage stuff - and came across an old GMT Master 1675. Fell in love with the watch and especially the patina but, as I had absolutely no clue about watches back then, didn't buy it as the auctioneer told me they had it checked and it was a total loss due to water damage (sold for 1.9k€). 🤦🏽*♂️

The thought of getting myself a nice watch for completing grad school in a couple of weeks has been on my mind since then though. You guys know the drill - you gotta earn money before spending it - so a friend made me aware of buying a replica. May sound weird but I like that thought even more than getting an original cause it gives you those modding opportunities which keep the whole thing interesting in the long run.

Still not sure what I really wanna get - probably it's gonna be a ZZF V2 Submariner No Date or a Datejust with the black or rhodium dial to begin with. At some point in time - in a couple of years - a vintage GMT Master would be great as well.
