You forgot to use the words "dagnabit," "newfangled," "gingerbread" and "back in my day." Like this:

"Dagnabit! Back in my day, I remember when people didn't wear newfangled jeans with all that gingerbread on it. And we would have continued if it wasn't for you pesky kids."
