Welcome to the RepGeek itrader tutorial. To assist members with their buying/selling and trading, use the feedback tool as an aid to help your decision making process.

The RepGeek sales areas are a marketplace for watch related products for members to buy, sell, or trade. There are a number of basic rules to the sales forums, so please ensure you have read through them in order to avoid infractions that could adversely effect your account. In the case of severe violations or repeated infractions, accounts may be banned altogether.

The below rules are subject to change, and the leadership team at RepGeek reserves the right to remove any post at any time.

    The DON’TS

*Don’t post commentary on the items for sale in The Members/VIP Sales sections. Please start a new thread or pm a Moderator of you have an concern w price/description and/or details listed in the thread.

*Don’t post unrelated items to the topic you are posting in (ie: ipods, nike sneakers, tequila shooters, cheese, etc.)

*Don't post links to an offer on another site/forum. All information for the offers should be contained within your post. [please review the very basic How to Sell at RepGeek thread]

*Don’t attempt to buy or sell reputation. RepGeek is founded on civility and ethical communication between members.

*Don’t be under the belief that RepGeek or the RepGeek Leadership Team endorses or supports any of the products sold within the sales areas - we don't. All responsibility for information posted is the responsibility of the seller alone.

    The DO's

*Do ask questions on the items for sale if you are interested in purchasing. We have an excellent pm system that works "real time".

*Do investigate the seller by reviewing their past posting history, total post count, itrader rating and general forum decorum.

*Do make the terms of the sale or arrangement clear before you complete the transaction and ensure that both parties both agree to the terms. This should include shipping charges, time frame to ship, delivery method, signature or registered mail, etc.

*Do beware of vague claims or claims that seem too incredible to be true.

*Do Leave itrader feedback and comments after you have completed a transaction with a fellow RepGeek.

One important feature of the itrader is the reputation system. The itrader system will allow you to review and submit feedback for fellow RepGeeks. You can find any user's itrader review count next to any of the posts that they have made in their avatar. The itrader feedback count will be located beneath their total post count and above their nations flags as shown below:

To review a user's itrader rating, simply click the number next the itrader text.

If you have completed a transaction, trade, or exchange with another forum member, then it is time to provide them with itrader feedback. To do this, simply return to the members name in the thread in which your transaction took place, and click the itrader review count. This links will take you to the user's itrader feedback page as shown below. From this page, simple click the "Submit Feedback for User" link and you will be directed to the itrader feedback submission page as illustrated:

From here you will select if you were the buyer or the seller (both the buyer and seller may submit itrader feedback), provide a rating on the transaction experience (positive, negative, neutral), provide a comment on the transaction, a URL referencing the location of the transaction, and finally post additional extended comments on the transaction if you wish. When finished with your comments, double check to be sure the feedback is accurate and includes all the information you want to add.
Then, click "submit reply"! Easy as 1,2,3!

Good luck, trade with good faith and integrity and enjoy RepGeek!

    Very helpful post J-C.

All members should read this and start using the itrader system more. It builds ones reputation and helps members better decide who to conduct trades, buy from or sell to . It is a very useful tool, and becomes even more useful the more it is utilized.

brilliant. with all the recent events, the rating system is the best way to determine who is "too legit" and who is "to quit."

i also take a look at who left the ratings. anyone who spends enough time here to feel it appropriate to try to sell to other members should be familiar enough with the status of members to determine how much the ratings mean. if there's someone with 36 posts and a +50 rating from other non-VIPs and the like, obviously something is fishy. if everyone does their homework, this will continue to be "the finest watch experience in the world."

This is terrific...all new members will specifically benefit!

My impression is that the culture here is to openly reward honest business dealings but the problematic ones are too often kept quiet (to include the feedback system - how many times has Matt urged disappointed members to leave negative feedback where appropriate?) Hopefully a more balanced view of all business transactions will eventually emerge.

    Nicely done!

    Tony

Great idea, having had 280 positive ratings on the "bay" this should really help people to get a feel for whom they are buying from or selling to on the "geek" This makes a lot of sense and good to see working well for everyone.
