Glad to be here…new mechanical owner, 3 weeks into my first honeymoon. I took over 9 months to look and learn before I decided on my first auto.



I picked up a slightly used Steinhart Ocean One Black. It’s considered one of the top players for a sub homage, however I choose it because its style would help predict which design I wanted to go towards for my next purchase.

With a 42mm case and 22mm lugs It sits in the middle of the size range I want to play in. Flexible enough in appearance that It can dance with nearly every strap style, leather, rubber, Nato, Zulu, or metal. Characterized by Sapphire, C1 Lumi, ETA, and screw down to 300m, this one stays.

In my short introduction to horology 101 I found the designs that get my heart racing are almost all out of my price range (I’m working on changing that as we read)… ReepGeek, it’s nice to meet you.

Thanks for all the complements…That GTI is a joy, I’ve owned quite a lot of cars and bikes but this vehicle suits me at the moment. The Direkt-Schalt-Getriebe is thrilling..downshifting is amazing, feels like Gran Turismo in the flesh.

I live Waimea, but drive to Hilo all week long (in another car), I’m knocking on the door of UH Hilo’s College of Pharmacy.
