Default Greetings and I hope I didn't find you too late...

Hello - I have been looking at replicas lately and yesterday after about a month of what I thought was reasonable research ordered a rep submariner from bestswiss.com for $850. After reading many of the threads here I sent an email to cancel my order I haven't received shipping confirmation yet and my CC still shows pending so I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get out of that transaction and hopefully do some better research with this site to find a quality rolex black ceramic submariner replica for a reasonable price. I would appreciate if anyone wants to point me toward some of the best replicas.

    Thanks
    Brian

I know it's poor form to quote ones self but I'm reading the sticky 101 thread on buying replicas and I realize that my post above (where can I get the best Submariner) will probably get a few eye rolls.

    Brian,
I hope everything works out ok with your credit card company. This is the place. My first advice to you is to just spend some time here. The community is second to none, there is a TON of information here.

There are very high quality replica rolex subs but you will be shocked to find out how many other highly replicated timepieces there are out there. At the moment most of the companies are on a holiday so it's a great time to look around.

For your rolex question...the short answer is bk's noobfactory if you like the contemporary 116610 and the bk TW if you like the classic 16610

    start here...

it's brief but it basically highlights your options. You were probably looking into getting a 16610, so with your budget read this thread

enjoy, I don't know that much but I'm glad to help with what I can.

    cheers

Brian, first of all welcome to RG.
If you have used paypal you'll need to wait 10 days until you're able to open a dispute on your payment and paypal will only refund if the item is not delivered. If the quality is not what you paid for they will not care, it will be a problem between you and the seller.

If you used Western Union or other payment method I'd advise you to contact your credit card company and see what the best option is for you to cancel that transaction before it goes through or if it has gone through already to do a chargeback on the transaction.

I can clearly tell you that even if you receive a replica you're paying wayyyyyy too much. The best ceramics Subs go for around $400 or less. Check BK's section on the collectors forum for the best ceramic subs.

First of all WELCOME! Second, I hope your deal turns out ok. If you haven't done so already, you probably should call your credit card company to cancel the purchase. Good luck!

    Cool

Thanks everyone. I paid directly with my visa card. I called Visa and they said that they cannot do anything yet as the transaction is still 'pending'. They said if it changes to 'complete' than they will get involved.

There's a ton of usefull info on this site which I've spent hours sifting through. This may become a more expensive hobby than collecting gen's becuase with a gen I know I could only afford 1 a year but I can see spending 2x that amount with reps.

Yup, you *almost* got here in time, maybe you did. You might consider a little white lie with the credit card company. "My wife used my card to surprise me with a new watch, but when I realized what she did, I found out is was a replica". They might be able to put a quicker halt on it, i dunno?

Glad you did get here. Best to find pictures of the exact watch you want, make a post about it here, tell us your rough budget for it, and we can tell you your options.

Your research about Subs here should consist mainly of two areas, "tells", (little problems that let you tell it's a replica), and movements. 21 jewel or 21j is cheaper, asian clone is better but costs more, and Swiss is rare, if you can find it at all.

    Happy Sub hunting!
