Hi, Jack! I had heard that as well but you have to be careful with olive oil because it can cause leather to stretch, weaken the thread and go rancid, making the leather have an odor. You have to use it sparingly. I personally would not use baby oil on any bag I own but do know of others who will. There's something about baby oil that disturbs me as far as putting it on my leather goods.

Neet's foot oil and saddle soap are good choices as well. And if you do equestrian sports or keep horses, you've got this stuff handy anyway.
